Presidential Undersecretary Mehmet Dânâ holds meetings in European capitals

Presidential Undersecretary Mehmet Dânâ held meetings with his counterparts in London, Brussels and Paris.

During these visits, Mr. Dânâ held meetings with the Directors for Europe at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France. In Brussels, Mr. Dânâ met with Deputy Directors-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME), and Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE); the Principal Adviser to the President of the European Commission on Relations with Western European Partners; members of the cabinets of the Vice-Presidents of the European Commission; Members of the European Parliament; and representatives of leading think tanks. Mr. Dânâ also held meetings at the UK Parliament.

 

During these meetings, Mr. Dânâ exchanged views with his counterparts on the Cyprus issue, confidence-building measures, the isolation of Turkish Cypriots, the application by the Greek Cypriot side to join the Schengen Area, matters relating to the export of Hellim/Halloumi to the European Union, the registration process of red soil potatoes, and the foot-and-mouth disease situation on the island.

 

Mr. Dânâ also held consultations with the Ambassadors/Permanent Representatives of the Republic of Türkiye in all three capitals.

 

During the visits to the aforementioned capitals, Mr. Dânâ was accompanied by Seniha Birand Çınar, Confidence-Building Measures and Technical Committees Coordinator.
