President Tufan Erhürman congratulates Ministers Nesil Çalışkan and Natalie Süleyman

President Tufan Erhürman has sent separate congratulatory letters to Minister Nesil Çalışkan in the United Kingdom and to Minister Natalie Süleyman in Victoria, Australia, following their recent appointment to ministerial office and the expansion of Minister Süleyman’s portfolio responsibilities.

 

In his message to Ms. Çalışkan, who was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the UK Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, President Erhürman described her appointment as “a historic milestone” for Turkish Cypriots around the world.

 

President Erhürman stated that Minister Çalışkan’s appointment to His Majesty’s Government was a source of profound pride and significance for the Turkish Cypriot people internationally. He also praised her years of dedicated public service and expressed confidence that she would carry out her ministerial responsibilities with distinction.

 

The President further noted that the achievement of Ms. Çalışkan serves as an inspiring example for younger generations of Turkish Cypriots and reflects the growing contribution of multicultural communities to democratic public life in the United Kingdom.

 

President Erhürman also conveyed his congratulations to Ms. Süleyman following the addition of the Tourism portfolio to her ministerial responsibilities within the Government of Victoria.

 

In his letter, President Erhürman emphasised that the continued service of Ms. Süleyman in senior ministerial office and her expanded responsibilities were a matter of great pride for Turkish Cypriots worldwide. He commended her longstanding commitment to public service, community engagement and inclusive representation.

 

The President stated that Minister Süleyman’s success in Australian political life demonstrated the important role played by multicultural communities in strengthening democratic institutions and social cohesion.

 

President Erhürman conveyed his best wishes to both ministers for success in their responsibilities and for their continued contributions to public service.
