In his speech at the ceremony, President Ersin Tatar expressed his gratitude to the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk for gifting this holiday to children.
Addressing the children in his speech and emphasising the importance of national sovereignty, President Tatar said, "Sovereignty is the only guarantee of our continued existence in these lands with our own identity, values, national and spiritual feelings."
"As we celebrate the holiday of all our children, I would like to point out that they are of utmost value and they are the hope and assurance of the future," said President Tatar, and thanked the Republic of Türkiye for their support to the TRNC.
President Tatar added that he would like to emphasise once again how meaningful and valuable this day is, which the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gifted to all the children of the world in 1920, 104 years ago.
President Tatar concluded his speech by paying tribute to all the children who lost their lives in the earthquake region, including the Champion Angels who lost their lives in the February 6 earthquakes.
