A meeting chaired by President Ersin Tatar has been held in relation to the armed attack on Turkish Cypriot businessman Mr Halil Falyalı
President Tatar emphasised: “Our security forces are continuing to work with great effort to track down and arrest the perpetrators in order to bring them to justice.”
President Ersin Tatar held an online meeting today at 11.30am with Prime Minister Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu, Security Forces Commander Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu and Police General Manager Ahmet Soyalan.
Regarding the attack in which businessman Halil Falyalı and his driver Murat Demirtaş lost their lives in Çatalköy on Tuesday, President Tatar received information from the authorities and consultations were held on the comprehensive investigation being carried out.
President Ersin Tatar pointed out that the armed attack caused great sadness and shock in the TRNC, adding that the investigation of the incident is being carried out with the utmost care and confidentiality. He underlined that the security forces of the country are continuing their work with great devotion to track down and arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Emphasising that the security of the public is of great importance, President Ersin Tatar called on the public to restraint themselves and emphasised that they should not rely on statements made outside of the authorised bodies of the state.
Wishing that Halil Falyalı and his driver Murat Demirtaş rest in eternal peace and patience to their families and loved ones, President Ersin Tatar stated that as the President, he will follow the issue closely and emphasised that the Presidency and the government are ready to provide all kinds of support to the security forces of our State.
