“Leader of our struggle for freedom and existence, we commemorate you with respect and gratitude on the 38th anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which was established with great struggle for existence and survival of the Turkish Cypriot people you led.”

Your struggle during the difficult years of the Turkish Cypriot people is admirable. You tried to help people in need by working as a doctor and you also made an effort to convey the realities to your people as a journalist. You were a unique leader who was  determined to do the best for the Turkish Cypriot people.

During your village visits, you were always the man of the people. For this reason, I am trying to follow in your footsteps.

As you emphasised; “The Cyprus issue cannot be resolved without Turkey.” With this principle and belief, we shall always protect the equal sovereign existence of Turkish Cypriot people and Turkey's effective and de facto guarantee.

You are a great leader who the Turkish Cypriot people will not forget and always remember with respect. Today, we remember you once again with respect, love and gratitude. May God grant you eternal peace in paradise.”
