ÇELEN OBEN
(Member of the Sports Supreme Committee) Çelen Oben was born in 1973 in Serdarlı. He completed primary school in Serdarlı and secondary and high school in Nicosia. He graduated from International American University as a civil engineer.
Çelen Oben started his journalism career as a part time in the Kıbrıs Newspaper in 1990. He worked as a sports reporter and then a sports director for various newspapers. He started as a contracted reporter and announcer at Bayrak Radio and Television Corporation in 1995 and still continues to work.
Çelen Oben, who also served as the chairman of the Cyprus Turkish Sports Writers Association between 2017-2019, was the founder of the Diyalog Newspaper in 2013 and has been working as the sports director of the Diyalog Newspaper since then. XI and XII. He served as the vice chairman of the council in the Sports Councils. He was a member of the Sports Specialization Committee for two terms.
He participated in conferences in Cyprus, Germany, France and Belgium in the series of MARS (Media Against Rasisim in Sports) Seminars organized by the European Union. Again, within the framework of the MEDIANE programs organized by the European Union, he prepared a research project on the sports life of the disabled with journalists in Finland. Again, within the framework of the same program, he prepared a project on Racism in Sports in Bulgaria. Çelen Oben, who speaks fluent English, is married with two children.
