First Lady Sibel Tatar attended the inauguration of a vaccination centre, gynaecology, examination room and nurse rest room at the Lapta Health Centre with the contributions of Alsancak Mare-E Monte Charity Association and its sponsors.
Mrs Tatar, addressing the ceremony, said that “such contributions in the field of health in the country” are of “great importance” and stated that this work in Lapta Health Centre is an “example of the success of non-governmental organisations”.
Pointing out that every citizen has the right to receive health services, Mrs Tatar thanked those who contributed to the Health Centre and the Ministry of Health for providing personnel for the centre.
Mrs Tatar expressed her wish for this “exemplary work to set an example to other non-governmental organisations, as to what can be achieved through solidarity”.
“I hope that these sorts of health centres, which are of significant importance to our community, expand and branch out to other places and that there can be cooperation between such centres and the State,” she added.
Sibel Tatar emphasised the importance of spreading the idea that “everything should not be expected from the state, especially in times of crisis”, and added that “everyone should take responsibility. . .we must all do our best for a better society and future”.
