Presidency Earthquake Crisis and Coordination Committee: “In the first place, 14 truckloads of aid materials consisting of food, clothing, protection and warming, hygiene materials and drinking water reached disaster areas”
The crisis and coordination committee, chaired by President Ersin Tatar, stated that 14 truckloads of aid materials consisting of food, clothing, protection, heaters, hygiene materials and drinking water reached the disaster areas in the first place, and a support team of 100 people today, in addition to the 37-person team that reached the disaster areas yesterday and equipment has been shipped to the region.
The Presidential Crisis Committee made a statement about the initiatives, support being given and aid efforts regarding the devastating disaster in Türkiye.
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu was contacted by phone and he gave information about the steps and expressed the needs.
In the statement, it was stated that a great effort was spent to keep each individual alive in the devastating earthquake that affected 10 provinces in Türkiye, and it was stated that the crisis committee formed under the coordination of the TRNC Presidency continued its work intensively on the second day of the earthquake.
In addition to the 37-person team that reached the disaster areas yesterday, a 100-person support team and equipment were dispatched to the region today.
In the statement:
“14 truckloads of aid materials consisting of food, clothing, protection, catalytic heaters, hygiene materials and drinking water reached the disaster areas in the first place. All work in the earthquake zone is carried out from a single source. All our hope is to bring our children together with their parents and to help those who are under the rubble. While the necessary equipment was transferred to the region by air and land, necessary consultations were held with Adıyaman Governorship and AFAD to transfer heavy-duty vehicles to the hotel area.
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu and our bureaucrats are there and take the necessary initiatives immediately, and the needed contribution is provided by the coordination of the governorship and AFAD.
Our struggle continues with the special opportunities provided to us by Türkiye. The TRNC stands by all citizens struggling under the rubble with all its means and support from Türkiye."
The meeting chaired by President Tatar, continues with the intense coordination of Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Commander Major General Sezai Öztürk, Security Forces Commander Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu, Presidential Undersecretary Okan Donangil and other officials.
