President Ersin Tatar and First Lady Sibel Tatar participated in special prayers that was held at the gardens of the Lala Mustafa Paşa mosque in Gazimağusa, for those who died due to the devastating earthquakes that occurred in the Republic of Türkiye on February 6, 2023.

The “Mevlit” – which is a ritual of prayers recited at different times during a person’s life and death, was conducted by the TRNC Religious Affairs department coinciding with the 40th day of their burial.
Also attending the Mevlit service alongside the President Ersin Tatar and First Lady Sibel Tatar were Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and his wife Zerrin Üstel, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu, Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Commander Major General Sezai Öztürk, Security Forces Commander Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, many ministers, deputies, military and civil authorities, families of loved ones who lost their lives in the earthquake and members of the public.
