President Ersin Tatar took part in the New Year’s dinner that was hosted by the Gazimağusa Muhtars’ Association.
In his speech, President Ersin Tatar stated that he was with the mukhtars at every moment of his political life. Expressing that he is happy to be participating in such a meaningful event, as a person who has had a close relationship with the headmen during his political life, President Tatar said: “It is not easy to reach these positions. Climbing the political stairs step by step makes you stronger. That is why I have been able to become the President. I am a person who has been elected to become the head of state, because of the attributes and strength that comes through hard work over a period of time, and because of gaining the confidence, love and support of the people. I am proud to represent the flag of the TRNC and the patriotism of the people by representing you, both in the Motherland Turkey and in various other countries of the world. The unity and solidarity among our mukhtars and the service given to the public are very important for me”.
The President, expressing his gratitude to the good work of mukhtars, added: “I would like to applaud you. You were elected as mukhtars with the support of the people in their neighbourhood as the first step in the wheels of our democracy and who work tirelessly for the society.”
“Contributions to you and improvements to the regulations were started from the period of when I was serving as the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance,” the President said. “As people who serve the state in a beneficial way, the public have full confidence in you. In this way, we will continue on our way. Our only wish is for our people to be healthy and happy.
We are obliged to serve the public so that that we can look to the future with hope. I am happy to be with you so that we can move the country to a better point in the political arena with your valuable opinions. I wish all the best for our country and I wish success to all our mukhtars,” the President said.
