President Ersin Tatar has paid tribute to Turkish Cypriot sports people who have managed to succeed in their own field, despite the unjust restrictions they faced internationally.
The President made the remarks whilst attending the 50th Anniversary event of the Northern Cyprus Table Tennis Federation, which was held last night.
In his speech at the event, President Tatar stated that it is a “source of pride for the table tennis federation, which was established 50 years ago, to continue its activities successfully”.
“We will continue to exist in all circumstances”
Expressing his pride that there are talented young people in the TRNC, President Tatar emphasised that there are problems being experienced due to the currency crisis and added that “we will continue to exist in all circumstances”.
He said he is “continuing to voice the unjust restrictions imposed on Turkish Cypriot youth in the field of sports wherever I go,” and said: “Despite the unjust isolation, our flag, talent, humanity and achievements are represented by Turkish Cypriot youth in the world.”
“Turkish Cypriot Youth have a good future”
President Tatar said: "As a state, as a government, as the federation, as a family. . .it is our duty to provide them with these opportunities and to pave the way for them." President Tatar congratulated the president of the federation, Mustafa Bekiroğulları, the families and the youth and wished them success.
