President Ersin Tatar participated in a jogging and walking event that was held at Long Beach in İskele.
Expressing that he is happy to be participating in the event, the President drew attention to the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, undertaking daily exercise and walks and appreciating the environment.
“İskele Long Beach is a very beautiful region of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,” the President said. “The TRNC is a country of peace and tranquillity. We should enjoy the beautiful environment and celebrate our cultural diversity. . .we have so many different people who live here in peace in the spirit of brotherhood. . .”
The President expressed his sadness for the suffering of victims including children due to the Russia-Ukraine war. “Their situation saddens us as well. However, we should appreciate that we live in our own country, on this beautiful island, in a very beautiful environment in peace.”
The President thanked Ahmet Bayan “for organising this beautiful event on this beautiful day,” and he commended him on the “fantastic project and investment”.
Stating that health is “the most important factor in our lives,” President Tatar stated that “ importance should be given to exercising daily and undertaking sports, even if it is just the basic daily walk”.
He ended his speech by commending everybody who chose to make the TRNC their home and reiterated that “we live together in peace and brotherhood in the TRNC”.
