President Ersin Tatar attends the ceremony at the Parliament of the Republic for the deceased former deputy Alirıza Usluer: “His will is to develop TRNC that provides better services to the people.”
President Ersin Tatar attended the ceremony held this morning in the garden of the Parliament for the former National Unity Party (UBP) İskele Deputy Alirıza Usluer, who passed away yesterday following a long illness.
President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the House Önder Sennaroğlu, Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu, former President Derviş Eroğlu, Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Ali Murat Başceri, some ministers, deputies, bureaucrats, Usluer's family and relatives attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, which started with a minute's silence, Ali Rıza Usluer's biography was read out and speeches were delivered by his son-in-law İbrahim Bayıkoğlu on behalf of the family, Parliament Speaker Önder Sennaroğlu and President Ersin Tatar.
The ceremony continued with wreath laying in order of the protocol. Following the completion of the ceremony in the Parliament, a convoy took the body to İskele for burial.
“He was a real patriot”
In his speech at the ceremony, President Ersin Tatar paid tribute to Mr Usluer, adding that he was an “invaluable person” who served his people in the TRNC police organisation for many years, a mukhtar and a member of the municipality council. He said Mr Unluer also served the country as a Member of Parliament.
“He was a real patriot. He believed in the TRNC,” President Tatar said. “He loved serving his people and he was also a loving family man. I express my deepest condolences and sympathies to his bereaved family and loved ones. May he rest in eternal peace in heaven".
President Tatar said that “everyone has lost a brother,” adding that the “passing of Usluer is a reminder that his generation, our elders, are slowly leaving us. His will was to develop the TRNC that provides better services to its people. Therefore, I wish success to our newly elected deputies and hope they will serve this nation, this people, without experiencing quorum problems in the new term. May Alirıza Usluer rest in peace and may his place be in heaven," the President said.
