President Ersin Tatar attends the ceremony held at the Mausoleum of Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş for the 38th Anniversary of the Proclamation of TRNC

A ceremony was held at the Mausoleum of Founding President Rauf Denktaş as part of the programme of celebrations marking the 38th anniversary of the proclamation of the TRNC.
President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Parliament Önder Sennaroğlu, Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu, President of the Supreme Court Narin Ferdi Şefik, Second President Mehmet Ali Talat, Republic of Turkey Ambassador to Lefkoşa Ali Murat Başçeri, Commander of the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu, Chairman of the main opposition Republican Turkish Party Tufan Erhürman, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and other ministers participated in the ceremony.
Following the laying of wreaths, the ceremony continued with a minute’s silence, followed by the hoisting of the flags of Turkey and TRNC to the National Anthem.
The ceremony ended with President Ersin Tatar signing the special memorial book, where he wrote:
“Great Leader Rauf Raif Denktaş,
You are a unique leader who devoted your entire life for the Turkish Cypriots to establish their own state. In the 88 years of your life, you participated in the struggle for the just cause of the Turkish Cypriots. We pay tribute to you with love and respect, and express our gratitude whilst commemorating the 38th anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which you established with much efforts and sacrifices.
Your endeavours to protect the rights of the Turkish Cypriot people under all circumstances inspire and guide us. The fight of the Turkish Cypriots for freedom and for the sake of having a state will always be our guide. I promise you and our people that I will continue my loyalty for the sovereign equality and existence of the Turkish Cypriots and the active and effective guarantee of Turkey by adhering to the advice you have given us. With the determination and aspiration to keep our state you built and the authority given to us by our people, I will always protect our national cause in the best way possible.
We commemorate you with love, respect, and gratitude on this 38th Anniversary of the proclamation of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. May your soul rest in eternal peace."
