President Ersin Tatar attended the commemoration event at the Eastern Mediterranean University Lala Mustafa Paşa Sports Hall for the boys and girls volleyball players, teachers and parents of Gazimağusa Turkish Maarif College, who lost their lives in the rubble of the Isias Hotel in Adıyaman after the earthquake that struck Türkiye on February 6th.
The finalists of the 11th Rauf Raif Denktaş cup, Eastern Mediterranean University and Vakıflar Sport teams faced each other at one-set competitions. The championship trophies of the traditional tournament were presented to the Principal of the Gazimağusa Turkish Maarif College Savaş Moral and the Head of the Parent-Teacher Association Osman Akın, who lost both of his children in the devastating earthquake, to be placed in the school museum of the College.
EMU and Vakıflar men's cup was presented by President Ersin Tatar, EMU and Vakıflar women's cup was presented by Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş's daughter Ender Denktaş Vangöl.
