President Ersin Tatar attends the opening of the TRNC Strategic Vision Workshop held at the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce: “The people of TRNC have achieved many successes”
President Ersin Tatar attended the opening of the 'TRNC Strategic Vision Workshop' held at the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce (KTTO) Mustafa Çağatay Conference Room in Lefkoşa that was held under the auspices of the North Cyprus Young Businessmen’s Association and Ostim Technical University, Ankara.

Addressing the workshop, President Tatar stated that as an economist and as a person who is well aware of the problems of the country, he said important workshops of this nature help people from the business world to discuss the issues of the country and ways of addressing them. "it is important to determine the prioritise that need to be taken for the benefit of the country,” President Tatar said.
Underlining that the TRNC is fortunate to have people “with good experience, knowledge and who are successful in their own field,” President Tatar said it was also important to bear in mind the fact that the Cyprus issue is a national issue.
“Protecting the welfare of people and developing the TRNC economy is our most important goal”
“There are two separate Peoples and two equal sovereign States in Cyprus," the President added. "The world must now accept this. Our sovereignty is essential. The moment we lose this, conflicts will come up again. We must stand firm on this issue, as we may be dragged to a point where the current economic gains will also be lost. This is the struggle given with the support of motherland Turkey."
Emphasising the need to amend the structure of the country in order to being able to compete with South Cyprus, President Tatar said: "This requires manpower. The people of the TRNC have achieved many successes. Even in the most negative conditions, we have been able to stand on our own feet. Our most important goal is to protect people’s welfare and develop the TRNC economy."
The President expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the workshop and wished them every success in the future.
