President Ersin Tatar heads meeting on economic matters
President Ersin Tatar chaired a meeting where discussions were held on economic matters.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu, TRNC Central Bank Chairman Rifat Günay, representatives of the North Cyprus Banks Association and economists.
Discussions were held on the recent developments in the financial markets and the economy.
During the meeting, President Tatar evaluated the possible repercussions of the external shock in foreign exchange on different fields and sectors of the economy and he shared his experiences and suggestions with the participants so as to prevent maximum effect on the citizens.
President Tatar expressed the belief that representatives of different sectors will contribute to overcoming the fluctuation in foreign currency exchange by making beneficial decisions.
The issue of addressing the difficulties faced by citizens who are repaying bank debts was also discussed, and the prospect of introducing a restructure of the loan repayments, which takes into consideration the financial circumstance of debtors.
