President Ersin Tatar is paying an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan for the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), on the invitation of President İlham Aliyev.
The summit, which is being held on 6-7 October, is being held under the theme “Regional Peace and Stability,” and will convene esteemed Heads of State and Government of OTS Member States and Observers together with their respective delegations, to deliberate on pressing regional and international issues, enhance cooperation, and adopt key documents aimed at further advancing unity, peace, and prosperity across the Turkic World.
President Tatar arrived at Heydar Aliyev International Airport Presidential Lounge in Baku, where he was welcomed by Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Baku Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to Azerbaijan Ufuk Arca Turganer, and Major General Soner Oruçoğlu, Commander of the Azerbaijani Task Group.
President Tatar will proceed from Baku to Gabala later today, and is accompanied by Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Member of Parliament and Deputy Chair of the TRNC–Azerbaijan Friendship Group Resmiye Canaltay, Ambassador Ufuk Arca Turganer, Special Advisor to the President on International Relations and Diplomacy Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Işıksal, and Presidential Special Advisor Gökhan Güler.
The participation of President Tatar in the 12th OTS Summit underscores the unwavering commitment to the solidarity, cooperation, and shared vision of the Turkic World towards the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
