President Ersin Tatar extended his congratulations and best wishes to all members of the press in a message commemorating July 11 Press Day.
The statement of President Tatar is as follows:
"As one of the cornerstones of our democracy, the press plays an indispensable role in ensuring that our citizens have access to accurate, impartial, and timely information, while also upholding freedom of thought and expression.
The responsibility carried by our dedicated press professionals, who safeguard the public’s right to be informed under all circumstances and carry out their duties with great devotion, continues to grow each day.
In this era of technological advancement and digital transformation, the efforts of our media outlets and press workers who undertake the task of enlightening society by separating truth from misinformation, are truly admirable.
I sincerely congratulate all members of the press who, while remaining faithful to journalistic ethics, serve as the voice of the Turkish Cypriot people, and I wish continued success to our entire media community."
