President Ersin Tatar issues a statement on the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump
President Ersin Tatar has issued a written statement condemning the assassination attempt of former US President Donald Trump and wished him a speedy recovery.
The written message of President Tatar reads as follows:
“I strongly condemn the assassination attempt on former US President and presidential candidate, Donald Trump, when he was addressing the rally in Pennsylvania. I wish Mr. Trump, who survived the attack with minor injuries, a speedy recovery.
Our thoughts are with Mr Trump, his family and the American People.
Nothing can justify any act of violence, assassination or attacks against humanity. Violence is unnacceptable and has no place in democracy. We should stand and work together to get rid of every type of violence and terrorism.
It is my conviction and belief that the US democracy will heal this wound in a short period of time and that the US Presidential elections will be held in a democratic environment, unhindered from any effects of this attack.”
