President Ersin Tatar issues a statement regarding the mosque attack in Pakistan, in which dozens of people lost their lives
The incident in which dozens of people, most of them police officers, lost their lives as a result of the suicide attack that took place in a mosque in the police campus in Peshawar-Pakistan deeply saddened us all.
Such acts of terrorism, targeting freedom of belief and worship, are the manifestation of an understanding that endanger not only a nation, but also the entire humanity of the world in the long run. It is clear today that prejudice and bigotry have become an ally of social and global violence. The most accurate way to offer a peaceful life to the whole humanity is to find sustainable solutions by taking terrorism not only on a religious and sectarian basis, but in all its aspects. Cultural, religious and sectarian tolerance has become a necessity more than ever, with an effective and comprehensive fight against all forms of terrorism.
On behalf of myself and my people, I convey my condolences to those who lost their lives in this malicious attack, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
