President Ersin Tatar participates in a short film screening entitled “Bambu”
“Education for People with Special Needs legislation will be speedily passed in Parliament which will make significant contributions to education.”

President Ersin Tatar attended the screening of the short film "Bambu", which is about the life and experiences of an individual with special needs.
Delivering a speech at the event, which was held at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Centre in Gazimağusa, President Tatar commended the director and producer, as well as to everybody involved in such a meaningful event. The President said that he attaches “great importance to the difficulties and issues related to individuals with special needs,” adding: “The human spirit is one of ability, perseverance and determination to succeed that no disability can take away.”
The President added: “We shall, as the State, continue with the struggle, to address and overcome the difficulties faced by individuals with special needs, and we will act in a spirit of solidarity and unity on this matter.” The President also thanked families in this regard.
Stating that he supported the speedy Parliamentary enactment of Education for People with Special Needs legislation, the President pointed out that, with the law coming into fruition, a “significant contribution and support will be given to people with special needs in terms of their education”.
President Tatar thanked everyone who contributed to the production, filming and the cast in the film, and underlined the importance of “raising awareness with regards to the difficulties faced by people with special needs and to increasing sensitivity in order to prepare children with special education needs for the future and their lives as equal members of the society”.
