President Ersin Tatar received the Head of the Turkish Community Football Federation (TTFF) İrfan Davulcular and the members of the board of directors.
In his speech at the reception, President Tatar expressed his satisfaction for the visit. The President stated that during his visit to the UK, he followed the matches of some teams and indicated the importance of doing sports in solidarity and brotherhood.
Expressing that the TRNC State will support all processes and events within the bounds of possibility, President Tatar mentioned the joint efforts of the two countries would be meaningful, adding that the embargoes and restrictions imposed on the TRNC youth were disappointing.
Wishing for the ties to become stronger and the joint activities to increase in order to overcome the obstacles, President Tatar emphasised that Turkish Cypriots living in the UK can also establish leagues and play matches in our country. Sports, brotherhood and solidarity also serve the national cause of Cyprus, he added.
Turkish Cypriot people regardless of where they are, can fulfill the most natural human right of doing sports, in their own will, culture and understanding, in unity and solidarity, President Tatar said. He wished success to the sports community.
