President Ersin Tatar set to hold meeting with UNSG Personal Envoy María Ángela Holguín Cuellar tomorrow
President Ersin Tatar is to hold a meeting with the Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General (UNSG), María Ángela Holguín Cuellar tomorrow (Monday, March 11) at 11.15am.
The meeting, to be held at the Presidency, will be the first meeting of Personal Envoy Holguín in her second round of contacts on the island.
As it will be recalled, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed Holguin as his Personal Envoy on January 5, 2024, after receiving separate consents from President Tatar and Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Christodoulides.
Personal Envoy Holguin was appointed with a single mandate to explore, for a period not exceeding six months, whether common ground exists or not between the parties for a new and formal negotiation process.
