President Tatar: I believe that the parliamentary friendship groups formed in the Assembly of the Republic will be beneficial
President Ersin Tatar stated that it was pleasing to see the creation of special parliamentary friendship groups to establish with Kyrgyz, Turkmen, Uzbek, Kazakh and Azeri parliaments.
Speaking to the TAK news agency, President Tatar noted that following the admission of the TRNC as an observer member to the Organisation of Turkish States, the step taken by the Assembly of the Republic in that direction was meaningful, timely and important.
“I am pleased that a parliamentary friendship groups was formed so as to develop ties with Kyrgystan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. No doubt these parliamentary friendship groups will contribute to further developing relations with the Turkic countries. I would like to congratulate the Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre and deputies,” said the President.
Expressing his belief that the move will support the political position of the TRNC, President Tatar indicated that this will also contribute to the struggle given towards lifting the embargoes imposed on Turkish Cypriot people.
